Community Benefits

OX2 is committed to delivering long-term benefits to the communities in which our projects are located. We look forward to collaborating with the community and the Mid Murray Council to design a benefit program that drives positive economic and social outcomes while providing lasting value.

The Project is expected to deliver affordable, clean, and reliable electricity for South Australia while offering economic, social, and environmental benefits, including:

Powering up to 130,000 SA homes with clean energy.
Storing up to 4 hrs of electricity in a 300 MW Battery for dispatch when needed most.
Creating up to 70 direct jobs during construction of the BESS and approximately 4 operational roles.
Funding community benefit programs.
Enabling greater integration of renewable energy into the grid to help reduce market volatility
Supporting South Australia’s renewable energy and emission reduction targets.

Scholarships

OX2 will explore opportunities to partner with regional TAFEs and Universities associated with our projects under development. The goal of this partnership is to establish scholarships that build the skills and knowledge needed for the renewables industry.

These scholarships could support a broad range of study options, including university degrees, vocational training, and short courses.

Student Technology Access Program

OX2 has established a Student Technology Access Program to repurpose company laptops no longer in use. These devices will be refurbished and provided to students at local schools, helping bridge the digital divide for those who may not otherwise have access to essential technology.
